EVENTS & PROGRAMS
PROGRAMS
The Fairbanks Wellness Coalition was formed in 2014 when several community members and agencies in Fairbanks came together with a shared desire to work towards prevention of suicide in the Fairbanks region, recognizing that this work must also include the prevention of substance misuse and the promotion of mental wellness to truly affect change. Since then, we’ve grown to become a “coalition of coalitions” - open for anyone to join, mostly made up of volunteers, and making more of an impact every day!
EVENTS
Celebrity Comedy Roast
Each year, we select a beloved community member to be the guest of honor at that year's Celebrity Comedy Roast. This event always brings the laughs as it culminates the week of Fairbanks Funny Fest and it's a shining light in one of the darkest times of year for our Interior Alaska community.

Campaign Kickoff &
Dessert Auction
Every fall our United Way kicks off our annual fundraising campaign in partnership with the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce. This very special luncheon provides us the platform to highlight our work with nonprofits, inspire others to give back, unveil the year's theme and premier our annual campaign video! Followed by sweet treats being auctioned off in support of the Community Care Fund.
DRIVES
School Supply Drive
Every summer, as the school year approaches, we partner with Alaska News Source to motivate the community to action with the Fill the Bus School Supply Drive. The goal is to ensure that every student has everything they need to show up confident and prepared on their first day of school, set up for a successful year of learning.

Coat Drive
As the weather turns cold and winter sets in, we call on our partnership again with Alaska News Source to rally our community to action. Whether they are cleaning out their closets or donating new items, all cold-weather gear is welcome to ensure our community stays warm.
Toy Drive
The holidays are the best time of year for many, but stressful for almost all. That stress is compacted when you realize Santa doesn't show up to all homes the same. We are always grateful for this final partnership with Alaska News Source that help us fullfill the biggest wish list to be sure no child wakes up to no gifts under the tree.
